Culture groups ‘on their knees’ after 30% funding cut proposed in EU’s next budget

Culture, media and rights groups demand that European capitals oppose a 30 percent cut to €8.6bn proposed for AgoraEU in the EU's next long-term budget. “They picked culture because they think it’s an easy target, but it will affect journalists, artists and NGOs who are the backbone of our democratic society” said Nela Reihl, a German Green MEP.
